Grocery Shopping for Weight Watchers ~> Weigh-In Wednesday

Grocery Shopping on #WeightWatchers via JustForClicksBlog.com

Two posts on Weight Watchers in one week?  Well, since I'm just getting back on WW ~ it's ON MY BRAIN.... It's been a couple years since I've been on Weight Watchers.  So it's been a bit of a learning curve to get back on track.  Some things I remember from last time.  Some things are new discoveries. Regardless of WW, my goal is to always have my family and I eat as Clean as possible.  That being said, there are a few "less than clean" products I will admit to relying on. It's a balance. … [Read more...]

Weight Watchers | Getting Back on Track

Weight Watchers - JustForClicksBlog.com

This past weekend was the start of Weight Watchers for me.  Again.  In 2011-2012, I lost a LOTTA weight using Weight Watchers and the Couch-to-the-5K running program.  Weight Watchers works.  Combined with a high energy sport like running?  It is amazing. Back then, I stopped using WW when my running got up to 25 miles a week.  At that point, I was in great shape and ate to fuel.  But when my back went out and the running stopped, my eating quickly returned to old ugly ways.  And … [Read more...]

Weigh-In Wednesday | Hobbies

The winter that never wants to end continues here in Indy.  Though I shouldn't complain because the 14" of predicted snow over the weekend turned out to be about 3".  But the cold.  Oh the cold. I decided on Sunday that I would not let the bitter temps keep me from a commitment I had made to myself to practice shooting photos.  And my sweet son agreed to join me.  So we bundled up and set out.  What does all this have to do with Weigh-In Wednesday?  Well, here's what's in my head.... What we … [Read more...]

Weigh-In Wednesday | It’s cold. The end.

So it's Wednesday and around here that means it's time to weigh~in.  Whoever came up with that idea?  Ugh.  Well, here's my weigh-in:  I've been celebrating my birthday.  A lot.  And while, yes technically a birthday is one day a year....  this year I've seen it as worthy of at least a week or two.  And when I'm done celebrating, I will need to detox.  Again. Here's the thing:  THE WEATHER.  Oh my head wants to explode thinking about it.  I've tried really hard not to talk about it, not … [Read more...]

What I’m Eating | Weigh~In Wednesday

brown rice pasta stir fry

SO, last check in was on 1/1 when I had just kicked off my ten day detox via The Daniel Plan.  Those ten days went surprisingly well.  Especially since we were hit with some awful weather.  I was able to give up all that was included....  except caffeine.  The minute the detox was over I made this and these to satisfy the sweet tooth in me that will never go away. I lost three pounds the first full week of detox/eating clean.  And another pound since.  But I would say the biggest change has … [Read more...]

Quinoa Breakfast Bake

quinoa bake2

As we started The Daniel Plan, a big worry for me was saying goodbye to Oats and Wheat/Gluten for the 10 day detox.  So far so good thanks in part to QUINOA.  It serves great for breakfast, works for lunch, and is excellent to round out dinner. A favorite new recipe from The Daniel Plan book is Quinoa Breakfast Bake.  I LOVE this!  It's a make it once and get several breakfasts out of it dish. The first morning I served it topped with almond butter and a few berries.  Next up was the … [Read more...]

Healthy Black Eyed Peas

blackeyed peas

This is one of those times I wish I was a food blogger with amazing skills to do this recipe justice visually.  I wish I had one of those photos that showed how DELICIOUS this dish is.  But, I don't!  So PLEASE take my word for it! We wanted to make the traditional Black Eyed Peas for New Year's Day….  channeling our inner "southernness".  But having just started The Daniel Plan, I needed it to be healthy.  So I decided to forgo old recipes and try my own version.  I gotta say, I'm super … [Read more...]

Weigh-In Wednesday 2014 {I’m starting The Daniel Plan}

danielplanplate-new

Like many can relate, this is a time of year where a serious detox is in order.  November and December cry out for indulgent eating.  And I graciously took part.  So as January 1 came to mind, I began thinking through ways to hit the reset button and get on track with healthy eating and exercise. Though I contemplated getting back on Weight Watchers or using My Fitness Pal, ultimately I realized I wasn't going to keep up with tracking.  I'm not in a season where that sounds like my cup of … [Read more...]

Weigh~In Wednesday Week 8 | When You Fall Down

Lamentations 323

There are seasons where I sleep well, wake early to coffee and Quiet Time, lovingly send my kids off to school, exercise, have a fully stocked kitchen ready to prepare the healthy dishes I've planned for the week, have bible study done, have laundry done and put away, the house clean and organized, phone calls returned, bills paid....  you name it and I'm on it.  I really like this type of season. There are also seasons where I don't sleep well, I don't wake in time for quiet time, mornings … [Read more...]

Welcome to our 7th week of Weigh~In Wednesday! We're so glad you're joining us...   Okay, we've talked about BREAKFAST and we've talked about LUNCH.....  so today we've gotta talk about DINNER! I'm on my own most days for breakfast and lunch.....  So my choices {good or bad} only impact ME.  Dinner is a different subject.  I'm not only impacting my health, I'm responsible for my husband and kiddos.  So as often as I can, I make sure I prioritize a healthy and delish dinner. Menu … [Read more...]
