Weight Watchers | Getting Back on Track

Weight Watchers - JustForClicksBlog.com

This past weekend was the start of Weight Watchers for me.  Again.  In 2011-2012, I lost a LOTTA weight using Weight Watchers and the Couch-to-the-5K running program.  Weight Watchers works.  Combined with a high energy sport like running?  It is amazing. Back then, I stopped using WW when my running got up to 25 miles a week.  At that point, I was in great shape and ate to fuel.  But when my back went out and the running stopped, my eating quickly returned to old ugly ways.  And … [Read more...]

40 Thoughts From Turning 40

This weekend, I said goodbye to my 30's.  SO...  is 40 really fabulous?  Here's 40 thoughts from the 40 seat: 1.  One year, not wanting to break my healthy eating streak, I made myself a ricotta cake.... it was disgusting.  At 40, knowing much better, I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite of my decadent chocolate cake covered in buttercream. 2.  I know now that ever attempting to STOP drinking coffee is in fact STUPID.  I proudly admit to being a coffee addict. 3.  At 40, I know that if … [Read more...]

How to Stop Shooting in Auto Mode | Part Two

Last Friday, I shared my journey to the camera and equipment I have today....  But today it's time to officially STOP shooting in Auto Mode! Again ~~ I feel the need to say:  I do not even pretend to be an expert.  I don't even pretend to have the basics nailed down.  I'm just a girl who made the commitment a year ago to stop shooting in Auto Mode.... who now wants to help you make the jump too! If you are stuck in Auto Mode, I promise that learning to shoot without that crutch will leave … [Read more...]

How to Stop Shooting in Auto Mode | Part One

Friends, let it be said:  I will not try to pretend to be some all-knowing, fantastic photographer.  What I am is someone on the path to learning more and more about photography....  And right now that means I will not allow myself to shoot in Auto Mode.  In this two-part post, I'm sharing what I've learned thus far. Today we are talking ~~> Equipment! The Camera... My 1st DSLR Years ago I purchased a package from Costco of a Nikon D60 with two kit lenses.  That camera was a great … [Read more...]

Weigh-In Wednesday | How to Get On Track

Well Friends, I'm happy to report......  I'm baaaacccckkkkk!  As I write this I just got back from the Community Center I joined with a couple friends.  My GirlFriend took me around and got me set up on  an eliptical first...  Then to the desk to get someone to set me up on the weight machines.  SOOO excited! At the end of last week, I stepped onto the scale to see a number that was half a pound away from THAT number.  You know the one I mean.  The number you said you would NEVER get to {or … [Read more...]

Back to the Basics | Weigh-In Wednesday

In her book, Bread & Wine, Shauna Niequist talks about the "back and forth rhythm of feasting and fasting."  She gives examples of seasons of feasting.... summers, holidays ~~ and then the fasting that comes afterward.  And while she believes in biblical fasting, it is not what she's referring to.  She says it's more that after a season of feasting, she strives for a season of healthier, cleaner, leaner eating. I love this concept.....  yet can't quite seem to find the discipline to live … [Read more...]
